About MacArthur Museum
Throughout World War II, the South-West Pacific battle was a battleground in the Pacific area. The Philippines, Borneo, the Dutch East Indies (excluding Sumatra), East Timor, Australia, the Papua New Guinea Territories, and the western coast of the Solomon Islands were all incorporated. Douglas MacArthur was an American five-star commander and Field Marshal of the Philippine Army from January 26, 1880 until April 5, 1964. General Douglas MacArthur was a highly respected warrior in both great wars who played an important role in the Pacific theatre during World War Two, and this exhibit chronicles his career.
