Over the years, timeshare has proven to be both a dream and a nightmare, with people gravitating towards both ends of the spectrum. On one side, there are the happy customers, which enjoy their vacations in their shared slice of paradise once a year – a reality that might not have been possible in pre-timeshare times. However, on the other side of the story, it is not all about blue skies, and the reality is that people who no longer wish to own a timeshare, for a number of reasons – the two most common being the rising yearly maintenance fees and levies, and lifestyle changes which might hinder one’s ability to enjoy their timeshare ownership –, flounder when trying to exit their contracts. To a point where they really feel trapped, with no viable way out of their timeshare.
