Cogeneration is understood as the joint production system of electricity or mechanical energy and useful thermal energy. This system of joint energy generation significantly reduces the energy bill of companies and improves the production process. Cogeneration plants achieve very high performance levels, generating electricity and heat simultaneously. Cogeneration projects are typically represented by two basic types of power cycles: top and bottom type, with the top type cycle having the widest industrial applications.
