Janie Metts, Owner and Founder of Flutter Kicks Swim Lessons, started swimming competitively at age 6 in her hometown of Columbia, SC. Through her high school years, she swam year-round for Gamecock Aquatics at the University of South Carolina.

We love teaching swimming and water safety skills to the amazing kids of New York City and Houston. We have developed an ordered, methodical approach to teaching swimming skills and to cultivate water competency. We have proven program success teaching hundreds of thousands of students how to better navigate in the water.

Even as a young Texan boy our Founder & C.E.O., Jim Spiers had swimming in his blood. He was swimming and diving at the age of 3. At the age of 17, Jim began teaching, coaching and managing pools. While Houston was considered home, New York was in his heart. Jim packed up and brought his unique brand of childhood aquatic education to the Big Apple. Always a student of the sport, and wanting to improve his knowledge and skills, Jim would travel annually to the training headquarters of United States Olympians- the Olympic Training Center.

Swimming lessons business. Mostly privates. Looking to have group swim lessons in the feature as well as a swimming club. During the course of competitive career In swimming I have won a number of remarkable awards, including the 2nd and 3rd place at Junior National Russian championship In 2004 and 3rd place at NCAA D III National championship In 2011 and 2012, as well as NCAA D III All-American Team member 8 times. And the most recent one is the 2019 Summer USMS National champion. Since 2009 I have been sharing my passion and the knowledge with a large number of my students and help them to achieve their needs and goals in the water. Now I want to share my knowledge with you!
